Launching Fortune 500 CEO Led OneTen

The Challenge

Create and execute a dynamic, tailored B2B and B2C PR campaign to drive awareness for OneTen, a coalition of leading chief executives, and their companies, committed to upskilling, hiring and promoting one million individuals who do not have a four-year degree into family-sustaining jobs.

The Strategy

  • Ideated and executed a series of B2B and B2C events in several markets. Highlights include:
    1. #Let’sTalkJobs Virtual Panel Discussion on the jobs outlook for Black talent
    2. Speed Coaching and Career Fair (Raleigh-Durham), exposing talent to resources and job readiness
    3. “Closing the Opportunity Gap” Fireside Chat (Philadelphia), featuring OneTen’s CEO, OneTen’s Philadelphia market lead, and OneTen Board Member and former CEO of Merck, Ken Frazier
    4. “Catalyzing Family-Sustaining Careers for Atlanta’s Black Talent,” cocktails and conversation event featuring OneTen’s CEO, Andre Dickens, Mayor of Atlanta and Ed Bastian, CEO of Delta Airlines
    5. Nasdaq Closing Bell Ceremony in commemoration of Juneteenth
    6. Forbes Future of Work featuring OneTen’s CEO and other leading executives

  • Executed an effective CEO Elevation campaign, positioning OneTen’s CEO as a thought leader and expert in the skills-first movement and labor economy.

  • Facilitated partnerships with key media, research and business platforms, including Radio One, Harvard Business School, Forbes, Aspen Ideas Festival, among others.

The Results

  • Played a pivotal role in the launch, rollout and expansion of OneTen, helping to build a business infrastructure with embedded PR programming across all elements of the OneTen ecosystem (talent, talent developers and coalition companies).

  • Significantly enhanced OneTen’s awareness and visibility among B2B and B2C stakeholders via earned media; highlights include flagship media placements in The New York Times, CNN, Forbes, Fortune, Bloomberg, among others.

  • Leveraged PR to help retain and grow its coalition base of 60 plus Fortune 500 companies.
